How we work
Four reasons a medical locker fails when opened
Nobody had used any of it
Training happens ashore on someone else's equipment. We teach aboard, with the vessel's own kit, in the vessel's own corridors, which is where the stretcher will not turn.
The expiry dates were the crew's problem
So they were checked in the week before a survey and not otherwise. We hold the dates and send replacements ahead of them, and the audit is a formality rather than a scramble.
The plan assumed a hospital
Evacuation planning written for the Mediterranean is useless in the Tuamotus. Ours is written against the itinerary actually filed, and revised when the itinerary changes.
